Sweet Boy’s Room

January 28th, 2010

We welcomed our little guy back in October and it has taken me this long to get his room up to par. I worked on his room for hours at a time while pregnant but there was never any clothes or someone to put in there to force me to get it all set to call it a “room”. FINALLY, I got everything set up and thought I would share my efforts. Craftiness can be anywhere not just on paper….although my 2year old, Hannah painted a canvas piece for her brother, it hangs above his crib. One of a kind and priceless, just like my Hannah!!

We decided on an aviator theme to honor my husband’s Grandfather, he was a Colonel in the US Air Force. Sadly, he is no longer with us but we know how honored he would be to have a room in his honor.

Seriously, is he not too cute!?!? I wanted to make something smaller than I did the last two times for my images…they are so easy to resize! I love that I can print one out for me and for my 2 year old to color too. So today here is my card, for a VERY special someone in our life.

Cute Puppy Dog!

I used Fun Flock on the heart inner and then used my trusty Liquid Applique on the trim. I also used some Aqua embossing powder for his patches, then decided to add a bowtie….because he is just too cute! I used some Flair! from American Crafts and paper from SU!

Hope you guys enjoy it, thanks for stopping by!! Also, be sure to click on the other members of the Design Team for their creations as well!! Happy Wednesday!!!

Paper Source Holiday Contest

January 25th, 2010

For the past four years Paper Source has hosted a Holiday card contest for customers and employees. The contest requires that you use only Paper Source products, ie: stamps, paper and embellishments. They pick a few winners from each category at the Warehouse and award the crafty person with a $50 gift card….so cool, right!?!?

This year, I submitted this card. I wanted to touch the whole season not just Christmas, which is what we celebrate in our family.

A Birthday Wish for My #1!

January 24th, 2010

My Hubby’s birthday was back in December, while we were visiting family in Virginia we were able to celebrate with his Mom. It was tough because I had VERY limited supplies with me while there, so this is what I came up with and I think he liked it!! Love ya Babe!

I used some Chipboard Sparkled letters that I picked up at Target I believe and the paper was from scrap left over from my last trip down there. The balloons were from my MIL’s sticker supply and I used my Smencils to color. It just goes to show that if you have it in you, you really can create wherever you are!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Robyn’s Fetish Blog Challenge

January 23rd, 2010

Good Morning everyone!! Today is our Saturday Challenge #16! I am so delighted to be on this team and love working with Robyn’s images, don’t you?!?!

Your challenge for this week is to create a card/paper craft project using the recipe below

Recipe Challenge

2 patterned papers

2 colors of card stock

2 ribbons

2 types of sparkle

2 buttons

I chose “The Bucket of Snowballs” digi download to create with.

In order to challenge myself even more, I picked the image first before looking at the details of the challenge. I almost shot myself in the foot though, I was perplexed on how I was going to get 2 buttons into this paper project I tell ya!

I had a great piece of inspiration from non other than my little Hannah. She made this during our recent trip to Story Time on Monday. I think it’s just right!

I wanted to make a very special card for our neighbor Jay, who was SO kind to shovel us out while we were away on vacation. Being a good neighbor is important but being an appreciative one is even more important! I made this card for him and plan to pop a little gift card to their favorite Saloon for all his hard and generous labor.  (You can click on the images for a larger view)

I did not want to make this too sparkly, Jay is just not that type of guy! I did however want to make it cool, which I realized I did when my hubby came in and said, “Is THAT puffy paint?”. I then had to explain the wonder of Liquid Applique, it’s one of my favorite things to play with!! I also used some Stickles and rhinestone bling for the detailing, which was a lot of fun!

For the inside of my card, I stamped the little penguin and colored him in. I then added some puff to him too!

The black and white DP serves as a holder for the gift card as well. I loved creating this card, now I get to give it away! :)

Be sure to check out the other ladies listed on my sidebar for their gorgeous challenge creations!

Thanks for stopping by!!

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Ciao!

Welcome John Eoin, my Junior Artist

January 21st, 2010

Over the Holidays, my nephew John was asked to join me here at Good Gravy Crafts. He is an amazingly talented, sweet, smart, thoughtful and dedicated little guy. He is my pal when it comes to crafts and such, so it was time to ask him to join me.

For his first project as a Junior Artist he made two sets of Christmas cards to be donated to his school craft fair. I wanted to donate something to be included in a raffle and thought if it’s his school, well then why not have him help! I set him up with pre-scored cards and sentiments from Paper Source and gave him some direction. I told him he could place the “bling” wherever and use whatever sentiments he wanted. He went right to work and took it very seriously, as he should…this is crafting after all!

I am so proud of my Pal John Eoin(pronounced Owen, it’s the Gaelic spelling), welcome John…great job!

January 19th, 2010

Happy New Year everyone!! I am so glad to be back after a little hiatus from blogging. Our little guy is just over 3months old and Hannah is absolutely loving him!!

I took a hiatus from blogging but not from crafting, it’s too hard not to craft!! I have been busy with getting the house into a rhythm and enjoying the newborn stage, it goes by too quickly not to suck it all in!

So here I am my friends, back and happier than ever!! To kick off my relaunch I am sharing a Queen Kat Design Card with my sentiment to all of you old and new…..”Well….Hello Darling!” I love this image and had so much fun making this card, I hope you enjoy it too!!
