As I mentioned a few days ago, my sister and brother-in-law surprised their boys with a trip to Walt Disney World. They are also celebrating their 9 year anniversary this week, so unlike most anniversary cards I made this one a theme. My sister had been holding in her excitement for the big surprise and I knew the trip would be as amazing for them as it was for the boys. I made them a Disney themed card this year and last night when I saw her at family dinner she told me she loved it…even the envelope I put it in. Having family as part of your fan club is such a bonus!! Happy Anniversary Guys!!!

Thanks for looking!

I have been working on other crafty stuff around the house besides paper. Our daughter recently moved into her Big Girl Room and I wanted to add a wall mural. My neighbor had suggested a tree with some birdies, so off on a hunt I went for the perfect whimsical tree. Once I finally found the “one” I used some white acrylic paint and 2 sized brushes to get it finished. It actually did not take as long as I expected, I am very pleased with the turn out.
Here are the before and after pictures:

My two nephews are both born in August only 6 days apart and I never make them the same style card, except for this year. With good reason of course!! My sister and BIL surprised them with a family trip to Walt Disney World for their 6th and 4th birthdays. It has been planned since last Fall and anyone who knew about it was busting at the seams in anticipation of them hearing the news! I wanted to make them a special card that they could keep with their mementos from their trip for years to come and of course include some fun Disney Dollars for spending in the most Magical place on Earth!!! When our house got the call that they finally knew it was better than I had ever expected!! The joy that was in their voices brought me so much joy as an Auntie that I can’t imagine how my sister was feeling. I can’t wait for the day when we too can share a moment like this with our children, until then I will live vicariously through my sister and BIL!

I recently made a trip down to Hyannis for some family time and got a chance to visit Colorful Creations while we were there. I got some fun new embellishments so I made a card for my Mother-In-Law, she is one of my closest pals and I am so very lucky to have such a wonderful relationship with her. I sent this to her last week and she called to tell me she wanted to wear the flower as a pin….I guess it means she liked it!
Hope you do too!

I have been busy, although some of the things I have been working on I can not post just yet. So, I will share a little project that I did in a very short time. I recycle everything I can, our recycling bins overflow every week when out on the curb. As I went to recycle the box from our dog’s treats I thought, “hey I could make something out of this!”…well here it is.

Right now this cute little box is home to my cards that are yet to be sent out for upcoming occasions, but I also thought this would be a great little mailbox for kids. There are so many possibilities…if you think of some more…please leave a comment. I would love to hear your ideas!
