My new adventure….Copics!

July 30th, 2009

I recently went to a workshop to learn more about Copic markers. I have been hearing about them for the past couple of years, but never really ventured into the now known madness! The class was held by Kathie DeLuca and she was so incredibly helpful. She had handouts and took time to answer all of our questions. I felt empowered after leaving the workshop….now I just have to save my pennies up because each marker costs….$6.50. YIKES, I know….but so very worth it. I will start slow and work my way up….as for now, here are the three cards I completed using Copics.

Jean’s Fiesta!!

July 28th, 2009

My friend Kristin and I help each other out all the time. She is an interior designer and she is always helping me out with ideas for the kids rooms, colors for the house and all sorts of other things. She is amazingly talented!! When she came to me to help out with her Mom’s Surprise Birthday Party invites, I was honored. Not only am I a big fan of Kristin, but also Jean…her Mom. We sat down and brainstormed ideas for the invites. After having an original plan, then realizing we had to improvise with sparkly lime paper we were HIGHLY impressed with the outcome!! The party was this past Sunday, so I am excited to be able to finally post these!! They are one of my favorites!!

I did blur out the personal info, for privacy reasons….but you get the idea! :)

Cold Day in July

July 27th, 2009

I recently went to a workshop where we worked with the new A*Muse Christmas release. I had a lot of fun putting together these 5 cards and for only a moment I swear, I was wishing it was Christmastime! I LOVE the Season of Christmas!! Before I know it, Christmas orders will be coming in….maybe you like some of these!

Here’s to a cold day in July especially with the heat today!! YIKES!

Casual Caribbean Wedding

July 26th, 2009

Our longtime friends Shannon and Jason got married in St. Lucia back in March, this weekend we celebrated with a belated reception. They love the beach and outdoors, explains why they got married in the Caribbean!

I wanted to make a non-traditional wedding card for them, well because they are that kind of couple. I had fun designing this and putting it together. Congrats Shannon and Jason, many happy years ahead!!

Shower Joy

July 25th, 2009

My friend Lizzy is getting married in September, I am so happy for her and Jimmy! Today was their Bridal Shower and I made this card for them.

Congrats Lizzy and Jimmy!!

Ice Cream, yum!

July 24th, 2009

I recently picked up these little ice cream dimensionals on a trip to the craft store, I knew I would use them…but not so quickly!!I found this great lime paper from A*Muse, so I put them together as a little thank you for my Mother-In-Law. There are five in the set and each has a different sentiment.

P.S. George!

July 17th, 2009

We recently were invited to a birthday party for Hannah’s friend Abby’s 4th Birthday, so I wanted to make something that reminded us of her. Abby and Hannah both love Curious George, although Abby calls him PS George(so cute) so I made her a PS George card for her celebration. Hannah saw it and wanted to keep it, but I finally got it out of her hands long enough to sneak it into the birthday bag! Happy Birthday Abby!

Sweetie Darlin’

July 14th, 2009

My husband’s cousin is more of a sister to him and I am so lucky to have her as my “sister” now as well. Missy and I have become so close over the years, I am truly blessed with such an amazing sister! For a long time now we have referred to each other as Sweetie Darlin’ which was started in the family by Grandma, who passed 2 years ago. I miss her daily, but will always have a piece of her in my life with Missy around. I made her this birthday card and hand delivered it during a recent family trip to Virgina….better late than never!

Happy Birthday to you Missy, my Sweetie Darlin!! Hope it was an amazing one!

Happily Ever After…

July 12th, 2009

My cousin is one of my biggest fans and she asked me to make a wedding card for one of her best friends wedding. She looked around my site and asked for some purple and Happily Ever After, this is what I came up with.

I really enjoyed making this card for her, I hope the bride and groom enjoy it as well! Thanks Meg for picking me and being such a big fan!!!

Pure Joy for the Graduate!

July 9th, 2009

One of my oldest and greatest friends, Eileen aka Rita graduated from Nursing School the end of June…I am SO very proud of her!! Her sister and I wanted to throw her a little party to celebrate her HUGE success!!! I can’t put into words how very proud I am of her!!! CONGRATS MY RITA!!!

I handmade each tassel, it was so fun learning a new technique. This was surely a labor of love…but worth it for my Rita! I love the 3-D affect and hope to do these again someday! Hope you enjoy!
