Nothing wrong with your rear end!

August 17th, 2010

My Mom recently asked me to make a card for her dear dear friend Patti, she is like an Aunt to me. You know those people who walk into your life that are somehow instant family, that’s her! My Mom and her have been friends for so very long, they have been there for each other in so many ways. When I found out it was the 6-0 I knew I had to go with something “right up Patti’s alley”!

She is a fun loving, caring, talkative, intelligent, kind and hysterical lady!!! So when I set out to make this, I took out a vintage postcard I bought in Gruene, TX this past March while visiting one of my dear friends. I think the sentiment “Lady I don’t see nothing wrong with your rear end” is hysterical and my Mom loved it too. To add something more I added a Amuse Creative Candy button over the “60″ I made in PS, an embossed “kiss” stamp on the inner left corner and matching designer paper, then lined the envelope with a paper bag from a local store.

My Mom headed out to Chicago to surprise Patti at her 60th Birthday Blast and from what I hear that’s just what they had! It’s amazing to have friends in your life that are more like your family….I have been blessed myself!

Happy 60th Birthday Patti!!! You are loved and cherished in so many ways, I hope you know that!!!

Anything Goes Birthday!

June 30th, 2010

Today I am sharing my creation for the “Anything Goes” challenge over on Mo’s Challenge Blog. I did not have a moment last week to play along….which is a bummer bc I try to play along every week….the ladies over there are all so inspiring….DT and the fellow challengers! So this week I decided to incorporate the last two challenges for this card. I really had a lot of fun making my first easel card so I did it again….love these cards!!!!

I love Bella and Bronte, they are just so sweet! I used my Cuttlebug for embossing, paper ribbon, bling, copics and some die cut trimmings I have had lying around.

If you have not gone over to see the other cards entered this week, you must! The DT has REALLY inspired everyone to have fun and be super creative!!!! So hop on over HERE…..and have a great day!

Thanks for stopping by, Cheers!!

Happy Birthday Dude!

June 15th, 2010

So guy cards are HARD, I always seem to lack the ability to find the right “feel” for a guy’s birthday card. A very good friend of ours celebrated his birthday a few days before me last month so I wanted to incorporate something “Harley-esque”, he always talking about how he wants to get a Harley. The closest thing his wife and one of my dearest friends Jenny has allowed him is a dog named Harley! A man can dream and then we as wives…..crush them!! Hahahaha!

.

I used some of my favorites…Fun Flock, Crystal Effects, Copics, Sakura Pens and my Xyron 510!!

I found the digital image online for free and just tweaked it to my liking. I had a Harley stamp that I embossed in black prior to mounting them.

It was fun to make this masculine card and even better….he liked it too!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Cheers!

Babies..who doesn’t love babies!!!

May 31st, 2010

I got a chance to complete my Mo’s Challenge while in Virginia as well! Challenge #33  was all about babies….I seriously love babies!! We had a very special family member turn 40 while we there so I thought this would be perfect!!

I had very limited supplies in making this and yet I had so much fun brainstorming on what I could use to make the card “pop”.

Thanks for stopping by, Cheers!

Un ami merveilleux, un baiser baiser et un joyeux anniversaire!

May 19th, 2010

Translated….A fabulous friend, a kiss kiss and a Happy Birthday!!

This past weekend was one of my besties birthday. She is a true fashion guru and has pictures of the most gorgeous clothing, shoes and bags scattered throughout the house torn out of every magazine that I never knew existed! She was most likely a designer in another life or something….because after the shoes she showed me yesterday….I am positive!

She is a totally different crafter than me…darker, more adventurous, incredibly skilled on the sewing machine(ha!) and can totally jump into something and make it work! We often are on the phone and she will say, look at this page….I nearly jump out of my skin because some things are so creepy to me…I mean carnie twins….really? She knows what I mean!

So in order to keep my vibe and incorporate hers…this is what I came up with!

Everything I used is Paper Source…designer paper, kisses stamp, scallop enclosure, black enclosure, labels, ribbon and pieces of flat paper. I embossed a lot of the things on it to make it stand out. She is such a kissy person and loves fashion….Paris came to mind….so all in all I am very happy with this creation!

Happy Birthday to my dear dear friend Meri….vous aime!

Just For You….Sister.

May 17th, 2010

Monday, Monday…oh do I have a case of the Monday’s!

A quick post to share my Tiddly Ink’s Challenge # 4 creation. The challenge was turquoise, orange and yellow. I knew just the girl to use and who to make the card for. My sister Erin is celebrating her birthday today so I will include this card with her gift. She is a cupcake kinda girl and as cute as this Curly Q!!

I added the sign and fun flock for some extra dimension….I love it and I hope you all do too!!

This is a hand delivery type of card no doubt!! Happy Birthday to my sister!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Fitzy’s 50th!

May 3rd, 2010

A very very dear friend of mine turned FIFTY on April 17th, she does NOT look 50! A few months back I suggested we throw a surprise party for her, her hubby and kids agreed. I had so much fun planning the party and if you know my pal Lisa then you would know the “theme” is very fitting.

Her daughter Whitney and her son’s girlfriend Steph helped with the planning, shopping, sneaking(teehee) and ideas on everything. We knew we wanted to do something fun, beach inspired and colorful so this is what we came up with.

I used Poppy paper from Paper Source and a designer paper that I found in Virginia awhile back…can’t remember the name right now, darn! The party was a HUGE success and no one slipped about the party! Here I am with my party planner gals and the birthday girl! Happy Birthday my friend!!!

Thanks for stopping by…Cheers!

Pixie Dust Challenge

April 14th, 2010

Hey there everyone!

I was googling digital image companies and fell upon Pixie Dust Studio, her stuff is super cute and I can not wait to get home and really play with these images….having nothing to craft with is tough but I do have a creation I can enter into their challenge.

It is Anything with Wings, you don’t have to use their images….if I was home I would but for now I am posting this one for the Challenge Blog

Thanks for stopping in!! Have a great day!

Mo’s Challenge-Pastel!

April 4th, 2010

I was so excited when I saw the Challenge for this week over on Mo’s Challenge Blog…PASTEL! I am a girly girl at heart and love soft pinks, purples, teals…you name it…I love it!!

I made this card for a special someone in my life who’s birthday is coming up very soon….hope she likes it!

I used my SU! markers to color everything in then I went over the cupcakes and wings with some pixie dust. I had some brads lying around that were perfect for the color challenge. I love this digi stamp…I have often thought of putting her up on my daughter’s wall somewhere….hope you all had a wonderful holiday. We celebrated Easter and it was a wonderful day!
